Carver’s instruments and equipment

Tools for carving are divided into the main ones – planing and auxiliary ones – drilling, cutting, joining and measuring. Electrical manual tools and wood working tools are widely used.

Tools should be made of high quality steel, be light and handy, they should be very sharp. Blunt tools scratch wood. It is easy and pleasant to work with a sharp tool, the pattern gets clear, exact and beautiful.

In carving it is very important to choose the right place in a room, its lighting, ventilation, temperature.
