Working placeWorking place is very important for a carver. Wood carving demands a lot of attention and patience; therefore there should be no foreign instruments and other items on the working table. For wood carving you need light and dry premises. Your working place should be well lighted, although you should avoid direct sun beams. The piece should be lighted from the front and from the left side. For cutting smaller details one should use a simple table adjusted for wood carving or a special table at which you can sit while working. It should be comfortable for a carver to do different works at the table. For example, the table top should be made so that you could lift and fix it at any angle. Pieces are fixed to the table with grips, screw and wedge vice or are fixed in holders. < Back | |
